a couple years ago we worked out that 8v 1/4 miles times do not count as the torque rips the road away from under the car, making the 1/4 strip significantly shorter

exactly what i was thinking all that torque is a bit much i might give it a miss as it wouldnt be fair to anyone trying to lower their PB at the Spring GTI Festival i wouldnt want to show anyone up (i wish)

if you do run, please do it at the end of the day, a rippled road isnt fair for other dubbers TBH saying that a mk3 could steam roller it flat again

So, what does an 8V Mk3 do? Distort the tarmac into a ripple with the front wheels, and steamroller it flat with the rears?

And the important question....I know 8Vs are fast, but can it beat that green tractor they use for track prep? Cos that has a lot of torque too...

I'm pretty sure thats the same mk2 that held the record for being the fastest road legal front wheel drive car in the uk at some point, think it managed to top 175mph as well
norris evo in a different league - violently quick!

yeah there was a maestro that held the record for ages, I think the golf was fastest 1/4 mile car for a bit, pretty sure he managed to get it just into the tens!

The mk 2 is James Hodsons from Jabbasport. I think he held the fastest FWD 1/4 mile record for a while with 10.6 till Andy Nichols smashed it with a 10.2 in the Rover 200

The Maestro was Andy Nicholls before he built the Rover . PB 10.23 sec

The CPS Civic hold's the record now for fastest FWD. PB 10.21 i think

Jame's MK2 Golf is a Driver ! Not a GTI or CL.

Jordy is rebuild his MK1 Rocco engine 2.1L 20vt and hoping for 9's this year also fitted a Berg Cup body Kit .

They ar all running at the Fast Show 22nd March.
