Default Stanford Hall aftershow reports/pics!

Well our first regional show is over and done with and in my mind a successful one for the region!

Firstly thanks in no particular order to drunkenalan, beetie, pab, skint golfer, mk28vICED, i.a.n.b and Listers VW for representing the region today.

You may wonder why i have thanked Listers VW, well Listers had actually sponsored the region for the day and paid for our regional banner and stand which is a bit of a whopper, the only club banner that was bigger than ours was the hairdressers automobiles owners club (or the TT forum!). Hopefully there may be more events in the future where we link up with Listers to provide a better event for our members.

I knew i was onto a winner today when half hour before anyone was actually due to arrive at the designated meeting point i got a text to say there was already two cars on the stand, 5 minutes after i arrived drunkenalan turned up, closely followed by a phonecall from a confused pab, closely followed by beetie and then mk28vICED. After a short drive and picking up pab enroute (which included a slight blockage in the road by a naughty regional leader!) we were in and on the stand.

Unfortunately the stand wasnt in the best of positions and was quite far from where we had previously arranged with Stanford hall organisers but some clever positioning of the cars filled it nicely. Some gifts from i.a.n.b in the form of Listers vw tax disc holders and keyrings soon perked things up!

Pabs fantastic build skills quickly saw the banner stand constructed followed by a gazebo which came down shortly afterwards due to excessive wind and some frame bending uri gellar would of been proud of.

Next came something very rare that may never be seen again, skint golfer arrived with buckets of water to clean his car! Admittadly he made an aweful job of it which was later rectified by mk28vICED

After a wander around the show, some hideously expensive bacon rolls and drinks we returned to the stand where mk28vICED mk2 racer was drawing in the crowds, followed by interest in pabs mk5 gti and beeties mk2 16v, i even saw a few people checking out skint golfers mk2 16v (although it could of been due to his comedy cleaning!)

After another walk around and some expensive teas and coffees, some hideous donuts and cheap sweets we went over to the Listers stand, heckled the parts manager then discovered a free source of tea and chocolate! Some decided to liberate some vw mugs (the naughty boys!!) although there were some cunning methods employed to sneak them out!

By this time we were all rather cold and the rain was starting to close in so we packed up and headed off home, luckily i managed a small conversation with a man who turned out to be the stand organiser who has personally promised us a better position near to the main house for next year!

Again thanks to all those that attended and hope to see you all there next year!

Pics will follow, i need to upload them first but there were also some taken by other members which will hopefully be uploaded in short time

you had to carry on past the concours following the path past the house and we were up on the left near the end of the road, not an ideal location as we were really out of the way!

Heres the ones i took on my phone after i realised the batteries in the camera were dead!

Ive popped all the photos in a cov and warwickshire photobucket account which will obviously be updated with the more shows we attend and if anyone takes any photos at meets.
